Paphiopedilum philippinense x philippinense
Here is an opportunity to get your hands on a somewhat unattainable and highly sought after species growing in the flask at a great price. Paphiopedilum spicerianum Commander’ x ‘Acker’s Top Hat’
This unusual species has flowers described by some as looking like little Martian men! And that couldn’t be more true with a dorsal sepal virtually the same size as the rest of the flower. The huge white extraordinarily shaped dorsal sepal is marked with a distinct dark maroon line that runs vertically through the entire sepal. The huge sepal overshadows the predominately yellow-green petals and pouch which are also slightly marbled with a deep verdant green. This species is easy to grow and multiplies rapidly for dividing.

Paphiopedilum stonei ‘Fernwood’ x self
This particular clone of the species carries a very remarkable flower for its type. Typically a stonei has a slight stripe on the dorsal and ventral sepal. In the instance of this plant, the dorsal sepal is almost completely clear white, very sizeable and appropriately rounded and upright. This plant is also uncommonly compact in growth with very wide, chunky leaves that resemble polyploidy. The seedlings also have this similar growth style.

Phragmipedium Waunakee Wonder 'High Point' HCC/AOS x caudatum
This is a totally un-chartered avenue in hybridizing but one that I have been seeking to travel for many years now. In combining the long petals of the species caudatum with the incredibly gigantic 8” flowers of the Waunakee Wonder, I am looking to produce some of the first long petaled Phragmipediums having the besseae color influence.

Phragmipedium Waunakee Wonder ‘High Point’ HCC/AOS x warscewiczianum
Synonymous with my hybrid of CA388, I am looking to produce some of the first long petaled Phragmipediums having the besseae color influence. In this cross I feel color saturation will be more intense in using the species of warscewiczianum.

These plants originate from my breeding program at the greenhouses of Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery, formerly Orchids by the Ackers. Our establishment has been in the orchid business since 1963 and grows a wide variety of orchids from seed and tissue culture.
Our focus is to market orchid plants directly to the public from our 30,000 sq. ft. greenhouse range in Waunakee, WI.
Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery does not offer a catalog at this time. The above items are sold through Chuck Acker and is the only means to obtain shipped plants from Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery fine stock of orchids.
